What is EXOFRAME?

EXOFRAME is a lightweight FRP composite framing system which can be used as an alternative to cold-formed steel and wood framing.

EXOFRAME interior wall framing is available as load bearing or non-load bearing and are shipped to the jobsite in prefabricated sections ready for rapid installation.

Unlike metal framing, EXOFRAME components are Wi-Fi transparent and do not interfere with cellular signals.

EXOFRAME roof and floor trusses are corrosion and rot resistant providing years of maintenance free performance.

Northstar combines the benefits of precision automated manufacturing with high-strength lightweight composites, to deliver a building system which reduces on-site construction time, lowers the total cost of ownership of the structure, lighter system weight, and lower equipment costs .

  • Industrial mezzanines and platforms are elevated structures or platforms that are built within industrial or commercial spaces to provide additional usable floor space. They are used to optimize the use of vertical space within a building, especially in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and other industrial settings where space is at a premium.

  • Residential structure framing refers to the process of constructing the skeletal framework of a residential building, including houses, townhouses, apartments, and other similar dwellings. Framing is a crucial phase in the construction process that involves assembling the structural components that support the weight of the building and provide its overall shape and stability.

  • Commercial structure framing is the process of constructing the skeletal framework of commercial buildings, which are used for various business and non-residential purposes. Just like residential structure framing, commercial framing involves assembling the structural components that support the building's weight, shape, and overall stability. However, commercial structures often have different requirements due to their larger size, specific usage, and often more complex layouts.

  • Structures designed to support solar panels while providing shade and protection for vehicles or outdoor spaces. These canopies are typically installed in parking lots, open areas, or other locations where they can serve a dual purpose: generating renewable solar energy and providing functional benefits such as shade and weather protection.

  • Solar roof tile mounting brackets are specialized hardware components used to secure solar panels to the roof tiles of a building. Unlike traditional solar panel installations that involve rack-mounted systems on top of the roof, solar roof tile mounting brackets are designed to integrate more seamlessly with the roof's appearance by attaching directly to the roof tiles themselves. This approach helps maintain the aesthetics of the building while also generating solar energy.

Our Applications

  • Stronger than structural steel on a pound-for-pound basis.

  • Composite products weigh approximately 75-80% less than steel and 30% less than aluminum.

  • FRP Composites do not rot and are impervious to insects and a broad range of corrosive environments.

  • An excellent insulator, FRP has low thermal and electrical conductivity, making it a popular choice in electrical applications.

  • ASTM E-84 Class A, ASTM E-2768 Class A 30-minute extended, Self-extinguishing, No smoke toxicity with Northstar factory applied fire barrier coatings.

  • Corrosion resistance means that the need for routine painting and repair is virtually eliminated.

  • UV inhibitors integrated into the resin matrix, Synthetic veil eliminates fiber bloom.

  • FRP products withstand weathering and intense use, providing long-lasting beauty.

  • FRP products are electrically non-conductive and can be manufactured with non-skid surfaces to provide a safe work environment for employees.

EXOFRAME Performance

PROVEN COMPOSITE MATERIALS

EXOFRAME utilizes materials and processes long proven in the aerospace, marine and automotive industries. Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites are widely known to be strong, lightweight and corrosion resistant.

EFFICIENT DIGITAL MANUACTURING

Custom digital modeling is core to the EXOFRAME manufacturing process. Your CAD or Revit model is refined by our engineering team, then converted into digital output files that are uploaded to automated CNC machines which produce the components.

CLASS “A” FIRE RATING

EXOFRAME is the only Class “A” fire rated FRP structural framing system available today. Leveraging our fire coating process, EXOFRAME can be used on any building, including those highly corrosive environments.
